MaineDOT Releases Three-Year Work Plan
AUGUSTA – The Maine Department of Transportation has released the 2022 Edition of its three-year Work Plan. This Work Plan includes all capital projects and programs, maintenance and operations activities, planning initiatives, and administrative functions for calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024. This plan contains 2,316 individual work items with a total value of $3.17 billion, consisting primarily of work delivered or coordinated through MaineDOT.
The trucking industry is split in its opinions of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s 18-20-year-old Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot Program, based on feedback the agency received during a brief public comment period last month.

Southern pine beetles are not an immediate threat, the experts say, but they are a cause for concern
When I learned that southern pine beetles, described in a recent University of New Hampshire press release as “one of the most damaging tree-dwelling insects in the Southeast,” have arrived in Maine, I worried that the Maine woods would be destroyed.
