MILLINOCKET, Maine (AP) — U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine says she’s cautiously optimistic about new prospects for the closed Katahdin Mills in Millinocket and East Millinocket.
Collins tells WCSH-TV she hopes the mills will be bought and that the Millinocket one will be reopened. She says they’ve had a turbulent past, but that she hopes the proposed purchase could stabilize employment in the region.
